Introduction
In this short lesson we’re going to explore a slightly different feel with our slides by stretching them out over a full quarter note. Instead of the slide ringing out quickly as an eighth note, we’ll hammer on right on the beat and let the slide travel a little slower. The key is timing it so that your sliding finger arrives right on cue, just as your frailing hand comes back in on beat two with the strum of the bum ditty. It’s a subtle shift, but it adds a really nice sense of control and expression to your playing.
