Learning guidance
Begin with the SIMPLY SONGS arrangement and concentrate on keeping the words and melody comfortably aligned with the steady 4/4 rhythm. The verse moves mainly through G, D and D7, while the chorus introduces C and a brief rise to the 4th fret. The Standard TAB preserves the recognisable melody while filling out the rhythm with fifth-string drones, chord tones and drop-thumb passages. Take particular care with the 0–1 hammer-on in the C section and practise the denser passages slowly before bringing them up to an even tempo.
Two arrangements included
Start with the SIMPLY SONGS version—a clear, approachable and easy-to-read banjo tab with larger notation and a simplified arrangement. It is designed for beginners, visual learners and players who find traditional banjo tablature difficult to read.
When ready for an extra challenge, progress to the Standard TAB, which provides a more complete clawhammer banjo arrangement with additional notes, techniques and musical detail.
Together, the two versions provide a clear path from understanding and playing the essential tune to developing a richer arrangement.
