The Ultimate Beginner Clawhammer Banjo Bundle £250

Project Pathfinder – A Crowdfunded Banjo Bundle for Beginners

For a long time, I’ve wanted Banjo Adventures to be a true all-in-one solution for beginner banjo players. Not just a place for lessons, but a home for everything you need to get started—guidance, community, inspiration, and the right instrument.

But there’s always been one bottleneck: I haven’t had a reliable way to supply quality beginner-friendly banjos through the site. I get asked constantly: “Where can I get a good banjo?” or “What kind should I buy?” And the truth is, I’ve never been able to give people a clear, confident answer—until now.

So I’ve launched something new: Project Pathfinder.

This is a crowdfunded initiative to help me produce the first small batch of official Banjo Adventures banjos. These are custom-made, open-back 5-string banjos—perfect for beginners, built with quality materials, and stamped with the Banjo Adventures logo. It’s the kind of instrument I’d feel proud to send to a student just starting out.

To make this first run possible, I need to pre-sell just 4 bundles.

Each bundle includes:

  • A custom 5-string Banjo Adventures open-back banjo (normally £350)

  • A physical copy of The Path of the Hobo – an A5, interactive 6-month beginner course with QR-linked video lessons (normally £40)

  • Lifetime VIP access to the Banjo Adventures membership site and community (normally £15/month, now just a one-time £5/month)

  • Free tracked shipping within the UK and Ireland once the banjos arrive

The full bundle is available for £250. That’s everything you need to begin learning clawhammer banjo, bundled together at a launch-only price.

Because this is a crowdfunded project, there’s a bit of a wait. Once the four bundles are sold, I’ll place the order with my supplier. Lead times could be up to three or four months before the instruments are in my hands and ready to ship out. But if you—or someone you know—isn’t in a rush and wants to start something new before winter rolls in, this could be the perfect opportunity.

This project means a lot to me. It’s the next step in building something real, something long-term, and something rooted in community. If it goes well, I’ll be able to make banjos a permanent part of Banjo Adventures—and help even more people get started with the right tools.

If you know someone in the UK or Ireland who’s thinking about learning banjo, or you just want to support the project, all the details are here:

Thanks for reading—and for being part of the adventure.
